Privacy policy
This site works without an account and without advertising cookies. This page says exactly what is collected, and why.
Your progress stays with you
Completed lessons, scores and settings (language, instrument, theme) are stored in your browser, on your device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data erases them; the resume code restores your completed lessons.
If you sign up by email
- Data: your email address, the site language, the page where you signed up, the date and, if you choose to answer, your level, your goal and your instrument.
- Purpose: sending you the cheat sheet, the emails you asked for, and advice suited to your answers.
- Legal basis: your consent, given when you confirm your address, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Retention: as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your address stays on file marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you again; write to us to have it erased. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days.
- Unsubscribing: every email has a one-click link.
If you write to us
When you use the contact form or the one at the end of a lesson, we receive your message, the page you sent it from and, only if you give it, your email address, which is used solely to reply to you. A hashed form of your IP address, which does not keep it in plain text, is used to block abusive sending. Each message also reaches us by email; it is deleted after 12 months, from our database and from our inbox.
Who processes this data
- Cloudflare: hosting of the site and of the subscriber database.
- Resend: sending the emails.
These providers are based in the United States. Transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR. Your data is never sold, rented or shared.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, cookieless analytics that count visits without identifying visitors.
Advertising
The site shows no advertising today. If it ever does, your consent will be asked before any advertising cookie is set, and this page will be updated.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. EU residents can also complain to their data protection authority.
